Yes, life IS just a bowl of cherries!

And to quote the song by Doris Day:

Life is just a bowl of cherries
Don’t take it serious; it’s too mysterious
You work, you save, you worry so
But you can’t take your dough when you go, go, go

So keep repeating it’s the berries
The strongest oak must fall
The sweet things in life, to you were just loaned
So how can you lose what you’ve never owned?
Life is just a bowl of cherries
So live and laugh at it all

…Life is just a bowl of, aw, nuts!
So live and laugh at it all!

Now it all makes sense!  I LOVE Cherries!  Juicy, sweet, red and sticky. I can eat the whole bowl!

They do get kind of a bum wrap sometimes because of their high sugar content.  However, according to care2, they have multiple health benefits, including:

  • Protects against diabetes
  • Promotes better sleep
  • Helps ward off Alzheimer’s
  • Reduces risk of stroke
  • Reduces muscle pain
  • Helps with osteoarthritis relief
  • Helps prevent colon cancer
  • Helps regulate blood pressure

And more!

So, give me my bowl of cherries, you get your own!

No really, I’ll share 🙂

    1. I think you lose some of the heath benefits when you bake them with sugar and crust, and top with Ice Cream 🙂 But I agree, Ice Cream is ALWAYS good!
