Seeing eye-to-eye

My Facebook friend challenged me to post a black and white photo each day for seven days.  This was today’s Facebook post.

I saw this hawk out at our bird bath a few days ago.  I quietly grabbed my camera and snuck up into the corner of the window and snapped a few photos of him with my zoom lens.  A couple of them came out pretty clear, even through the glass.

I did go outside to sneak around the corner, attempting to get an outdoor shot, but he was on to me and the next second he was gone.

Anyone who has ever stopped to watch a hawk in flight will know that this is one of the natural world’s most elegant phenomena.

That’s a fantastic shot, and through the window, even! Hard to believe it’s so clear.
