Lens-Artists Challenge #75 – Nostalgic

Hello!  Meet my Christmas friends:
Aurora-Beary Alice
Moosel-Toe
Two Below
Admiral Brrrd

This year we are doing no real Christmas decorations.  We won’t have family around, so we are keeping it simple.

When I pulled out my wrapping for gifts, and dug through a couple of storage containers, I found these four friends from Christmases past.

I love stuffed animals.  I have a huge collection of small beanie friends from vacation trips over the years.  I have a hard time letting go of them.  I have given away some of the bigger ones.

I remember over the past years, pulling out these four guys, and setting them out, often on my kitchen table, in the little silver sleigh below.   They are still looking great, as I discovered the tags listing their birth dates in 1996 and 1997, right after we got married.

They bring up fond memories of Christmas preparations and decorations during the years when we first moved into our home.  I love decorating in silver and blue, at Christmas and anytime.  Maybe because the blue reminds me of the sea, my favorite place.

I thought this was perfect for this Lens-Artist Challenge.

May whatever Christmas activities you do during the season bring up fond and happy memories of Christmases past.

One of my favorite traditions is to pick up coffee after a nice dinner out, and have my husband drive me around the neighborhood to look at Christmas lights.

And my favorite Christmas movies are The Santa Clause movies with Tim Allen, and White Christmas with Bing Crosby.

What are some of your memories?

A lovely little group of friends and a nice dose of nostalgia to go with them. Every year growing up my mom and dad would pile the 5 kids into our car and we’d drive around to see the lights. Thank you for reminding me of that very fond memory with your fun post.

Aw, YES! Beanie Babies at Christmas! My two kids were born in the early 90s and our house was full of them. I still have a few that I didn’t want to part with. And I have two Coca Cola bears that my mom had that I bring out too. They are going to be 20 years old next year! Just like your’s the tags are still on them. Your post made me smile, thank you for the nostalgic look! Merry Christmas – enjoy the sights and sounds and the peace (PS – I love the beach too……………….!)
