On the Hunt for Joy Challenge: Get Outside

One of my favorite things! Hunting for joy, outside!

And today, on my hunt, I ran across this most beautiful flowering weed.  Yes, I’m sure it was not planted there purposely. Yet, it produced the most beautiful flowers!

What exactly is a “weed”?  According to www.dictionary.com a weed is:

any undesirable or troublesome plant, especially one that grows profusely where it is not wanted:

a valueless plant growing wild, especially one that grows on cultivated ground to the exclusion or injury of the desired crop.

Someone may not want this plant where it is, but I believe it was in a perfect spot for my morning walk, in the beautiful sunlight.

A weed is no more than a flower in disguise,
Which is seen through at once, if love give a man eyes.
James Russell Lowell

A fresh and vigorous weed, always renewed and renewing,
it will cut its wondrous way through rubbish and rubble.
William Jay Smith

I didn’t want to tell the tree or weed what it was. I wanted it to tell me something and through me express its meaning in nature.

That is certainly a beautiful “weed”. I’d call it a flower.

    1. Thank you! I didn’t really think of them being dandelions, but I guess that is what they look like. Very healthy ones!
