Our prickly pear cactus apparently has sap on it, and is attracting several kinds of flying creatures. I’ve taken quite a few photos over the last couple of days.
Today when I came back into the house, and looked closely at this little guy, he appeared to be hung up on a cactus needle! Poor little thing 😢
I grabbed a toothpick, broke it in half, and gently lifted him up off the needle. He flew away, so hopefully he is OK!
“If you have men who will exclude any of God’s creatures from the shelter of compassion and pity, you will have men who will deal likewise with their fellow men.”
~ Francis of Assisi
Oh, poor little bug…I’m glad you helped him.

Me too! He was kicking around so he was still alive. So strange!

It looks like it might be a carpet beetle of sorts. Well saved, Lisa! 🙂

Thank you Peter! He was wiggling his legs so I know he was alive, but it sure didn’t look very good!
