Lens-Artists Photo Challenge #101 – One Single Flower

On a morning walk last month, this single flower, petals glowing from the morning sunlight, caught my eye as I approached from behind. It stood out to me, all alone, as the sun lit up the yellow petals. I thought it was the perfect flower for this week’s Lens-Artists Photo Challenge, hosted by my favorite flower photographer, Cee! Her flowers are so amazing. Thank you for your inspiration, Cee 💐💐

I believe my flower to be a Prairie Sunflower. On my way back home, it stood out to me again, and I saw the face of the flower shining in the sun. Funny how you see more when you look from all perspectives. The bottom photo, and the “featured” top photo from the side, were ones I took on my way home. I think this guy was an early bloomer because I’m seeing more of these around this month. Such a pretty single flower 🌻🌻🌻

I just love how the colors came together on this photo.

“Flowers always make people better, happier, and more helpful; they are sunshine, food and medicine for the soul.” – Luther Burbank

“Arranging a bowl of flowers in the morning can give a sense of quiet in a crowded day—like writing a poem or saying a prayer.” – Anne Morrow Lindbergh
