I buzz around and move so fast it’s hard to snap my photo.
So when I land you better be fast!
And you may think, at first glance, that I’m dull and black.
But look closely and you will see me shimmer with hints of pinks and purples!
Now I can be a bit destructive because I love to burrow into wood. And one of my predators, the woodpecker, can do additional damage as he digs for me in the wood with his strong beak!
However, I am a big bee and I have very strong thoracic muscles so I can really stir up the pollen.
I am great for pollinating vegetable flowers!
And I think I am quite beautiful against the green and purple flowers.
