Face the dragonfly!

Over the past couple of weeks Iโ€™ve captured a few close up photos of my dragonfly friends. The details of their face and body amaze me. There is such a variety of colors. They are such fascinating creatures.

    1. Yes! And someone told me there are 18 or 19 species in that area. I’m actually trying to see how many I can identify with a nature app I discovered. Just fascinating!

  2. These are stunning photos, Lisa! Dragonflies always have so much character when viewed close up. I have seen a few around here this year, one even zipped through the garden, but they haven’t really kept still for me to snap, so nice!

    1. Thank you Peter! I remember seeing one in my front yard like a year or two ago. But then in the spring all of these hatched at our little wetlands area. It was amazing! And they land a lot. With my zoom lens and the right lighting, it seems quite easy to get photos. I’m on a little mission to see how many I can actually identify ๐Ÿ˜Š

Inspired by all of your nature walks, I visited the museum yesterday and it was so peaceful on the grounds. I immediately felt a strong sense of calm and rejuvenation. Needless to say I intend to go more often๐Ÿ˜‰

As I watched some dragonflies flutter by I was struck even more so by how amazing your shots of them areโค๏ธ๐Ÿค—

    1. Thanks Teri! There is something about being outdoors. We got rain last night. Today was about 10 degrees cooler than yesterday! So I went out on a walk right before sunset. The sunset was beautiful. It just relaxed my brain and made me happy ๐Ÿ˜Š Can’t wait for things to green back up after a bit more rain.
