Reflections: cool birds 😎

Yesterday morning I went back to our wetlands park for the first time since they removed some of the dried reeds to open up the water areas. Not only did I discover some new birds, but I captured some beautiful reflections perfect for Lisa Coleman’s Bird Week Challenge: Reflection of Birds.

I also discovered I was not the only one there enjoying the visible water areas and varieties of birds. I do appreciate that other bird fans openly share their bird discoveries with those of us passing by. Because of that I made an awesome discovery that I will share in a future post.

A cool morning walk in the fresh air among singing birds. Feeling the breezes as they rustle the spring leaves in the trees. This is most certainly the best way to start the day πŸ’š

Red winged black birds were everywhere! I love their song and because the waters were more visible, I was able to see their beautiful feathers reflect in the water! The reflection is subtle, but you can see them. Notice he is singing 😊
The tone of this photo came out almost “aged” looking. I decided I liked it. And if you look very closely, you can see his eye is open and peering at me as I shot his photo.
This pretty duck, also the feature photo, is such an elegant bird, the Gadwell ❀
This Common Gallinule really sparkled with his bright red beak!
I just loved how this photo and the one below came out. This Snowy Egret is beautiful.
I noticed he would shake his foot back and forth under the water to stir up something for him to snatch and eat.
And finally, I could not help myself. This little grebe just came out so darn cute! πŸ’™

These are fabulous, Lisa! You got some great action shots along with the reflections. The Red-winged Blackbird singing is stunning. I’m glad you added the Grebe, they are cute little birds. The wow shot is the Snowy Egret! To get something in the beak (I couldn’t tell what) and the water ring is outstanding. πŸ™‚

    1. Thank you Lisa! I think that is a fish, but I can’t tell for sure either. There were a lot of tiny fish in that stream. I also liked that water ring 😊
