Rest in peace, sweet baby πŸ’”

Sadly, we had to let our Precious kitty go on Wednesday. She was not recovering from her dental procedure as we hoped. We were blessed with a wonderful dental vet who listened to our concerns and did her best to provide the care we needed for our kitty. She even consulted with a colleague in California the night before our clinic appointment. Given Precious’s health situation, there was probably more going on. The colleague felt that Precious may have Valley Fever or cancer, neither one treatable in her case.

Letting her go was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. She was the one who comforted me when we lost her buddy Shadow four years ago and I miss her terribly.

Although we feel confident we made the right decision, our home is very lonely without her. It is amazing how so many parts of our home remind us of our baby. I am so blessed with a caring husband to comfort me through this process.

Pets are the world to me. I think they are the most obvious manifestations of divine love that we are going to see this side of eternity.
~Anne Lamott

If God brings our pets back to life, it wouldn’t surprise me. It would be just like Him. It would be totally in keeping with His generous character… Exorbitant. Excessive. Extravagant in grace after grace. Of all the dazzling discoveries and ecstatic pleasures heaven will hold for us, the potential of seeing Scrappy would be pure whimsy-utterly, joyfully, surprisingly superfluous… Heaven is going to be a place that will refract and reflect in as many ways as possible the goodness and joy of our great God, who delights in lavishing love on His children.

Very sad you have lost your dear friend. Praying peace and comfort for you Lisa. Loosing a pet is like loosing part of you. I still talk to my dog at times and she has been gone for years.

    1. Thank you, Ashley. It is amazing how much our life revolved around her. I’ve had cats for the past 33 years, but the past 4 years it was only her. And I can tear up talking about all of them! Pet lovers understand πŸ˜ŠπŸ’”πŸ˜’πŸ™

  15. After a point it doesn’t matter if its a person or a pet that has lived with us, the pain of their leaving is equal in some ways. May she blesses you with another kitty soon Lisa.

    1. Thank you, Narayen. Each day is easier. With our age, and desire to travel more, I doubt we will get another one. Which makes it harder. But I’ve lost 4 cats in my adult life. I’m not sure I want to go through it again…
