Great read: Ruthless River

Recently both my husband and I finally got caught by the COVID bug. Having avoided it for almost three years, it kind of caught us by surprise. None the less, we didn’t get horribly sick (thank God), but we were laid up at home for several days.

Last week, while doing almost nothing on the couch all weekend, I dove into this book that I’d purchased some time back and had it waiting for me on my Kindle.

If you want a true life, totally amazing and freaky travel adventure story, you may enjoy Ruthless River. Once I started it Saturday morning, I could hardly put it down until I finished it Sunday afternoon.

This recently married, extremely adventurous couple head off into the Amazon for an adventure of a lifetime. However, it takes an unexpected turn while rafting on the Rio Madre De Dios in the Amazon. I don’t want to give away too much, but not only was I able to experience their unbelievable adventure in my mind, but I also learned about the areas they visited and the people.

If you decide to read it, don’t stop. The ending is worth it. Something I won’t be forgetting for a long time.

It may make my adventures seem mild, but it reminds me that the adventures are worth it. And if things don’t quite turn out as you expect, keep pushing forward!

Quote from book:

“Many waters cannot quench love, neither can the floods drown it… Song of Solomon 8:6 (KJV)”

  2. Aw, glad to hear your case of COVID was mild. That’s what ours was like too, and we thought we had dodged it for a long time as well. The lack of taste and smell lasted longer than I would’ve liked, but it wasn’t that bad and we recovered too. I think everyone is going to eventually get it, IMHO.
I’ve added the book to my TBR list, it’s fun to have a list to look forward to in 2023.
I hope you continue to feel better and better each day.

Glad you’re doing okay. I haven’t heard of this book, but read one about Teddy Roosevelt traveling another South American river several years ago. “The River of Doubt: Theodore Roosevelt’s Darkest Journey.”

    1. Wow, I looked that up. I’m not sure if I’d like it or not! I think I got my book through this daily deals email: book bub. You can get ebooks for very inexpensive. Not normally what I might choose. But I was sure fascinated by it!!
