Black-crowned Night-Heron

As I made my way around a tree Saturday morning, low and behold I saw this fellow just hanging out on a limb. I took several photos and then whoosh! …he flew away. I believe he is a Black-crowned Night-Heron. He appeared to have a friend on the other side of the lake. I will be watching for them on my next visit.

Does anyone know if all herons are able to extend their necks out to an incredible length? I just don’t see it happening with this guy. However, my fuzzy photo aimed across the lake did show the other bird with an incredibly long neck. It just fascinates me. 🙂

    Excellent shot Lisa❣️

Love the Rohn quote and I’m a work in progress on replacing frustration with fascination – it makes the situation much more manageable 😉🤪
