Until you spread your wings, you’ll have no idea how far you can fly.
~ Napoleon Bonaparte
Jump, and you will find out how to unfold your wings as you fall.
~Ray Bradbury

I am obsessed with the white-lined sphynx moth (hawk moth). I have posted previous photos, but this is by far my favorite amazing creature that has emerged from our near record breaking rain season. I look for them everywhere, but have only been able to photograph them in the desert willow trees. They can be mistaken for butterflies and their tubular tongue can be as long as their body. The time to find them is in early morning, or at dusk. I think they are amazing and beautiful.

I think this one was a smaller one. It touched my heart to see his tattered wings didn’t slow him down.
Beautiful! I love your pictures!

Thank you! Something about a hummingbird on a flower that is so beautiful! I see them at my feeder, but it’s not the same as a flower!

Very nice: I’ve never seen a blue swallowtale, before, Lisa!🦋
(In England there are only yellow ones.)

The moth is lovely but my own favourite is the hummingbird, perhaps because we don’t get them here in the UK

Thank you Sarah! We have a hummingbird feeder, but my favorite is to see them on flowers!

Yes – the feeders are great for attracting them but I sometimes find them a bit ugly for photography – a real flower is so much better if yo can get it!

True. Until we try , we’ll never know how high, how far, how much we can reach and achieve. Beautiful inspiration. Thank you.

I completely understand. I was out on a walk today, and this beautiful mushroom 🍄 from a couple of days ago had been thrashed about a bit. Made me a little sad. You’re most welcome, Lisa! ☺️
