My dad creates miniatures!

At 82 years young, my dad does an amazing thing: he creates miniatures! They are from kits, with hundreds of tiny parts. He has patience and dexterity (and vision!) to put all the tiny pieces together and build these fascinating creations.

I took the beach house home once it was created (of course). What will become of the other tiny masterpieces? I don’t know. Fortunately, I had the idea to document his hobby. Should he give them away, I will still have the photos.

Currently he has started on a tiny pink doll house.

I hope you enjoy the slide shows below. I found out the art of miniature photography is challenging, at least for me. However, I still think they came out kind of cool.

You are amazing, Dad ❤

Lisa, ever since we visited the Chicago Art Museum’s Thorne Miniature Rooms I’ve been fascinated by them! I bought a Paris Cafe for our family to put together but we were overwhelmed with all the tiny parts, patterns and projects involved in the assembly. Hats off to your dad for completing these! I especially love the bookstore! 🌟💛

    1. Thank you, Collette! Even the instructions are tiny! I think it is a great project for him (but not for me! 😊) Oh, but your Paris Cafe would be fabulous, I’m sure! We have a Miniature Museum in town that I’ve visited a couple of times. It’s just mesmerizing!

So much detail! I imagine it fascinating to put it all together but I’m far too clumsy to even think about doing it. They are fabulous and I smiled all the way through. Give him a hug from me!

Amazing talent and such precision. You did a great job at photographing them and zooming in for us to see the details. Fantastic. And what a great hobby for him at 82. I love the chocolatier . It is so welcoming. The only hiccup with it is I can’t fit. Wouldn’t it be fun to shrink down and play? Donna
