Big Bend Nat’l Park resident: Horse Lubber Grasshopper

The little friends you can make along the way, if you will only stop to say hello.

I found this brilliantly colored grasshopper as I walked along the path near our lodge in the park.

Hello Horse Lubber!

πŸ¦—πŸ¦—πŸ¦—πŸ¦—πŸ¦—πŸ¦—πŸ¦—πŸ¦—

“Crowds of bees are giddy with clover
Crowds of grasshoppers skip at our feet,
Crowds of larks at their matins hang over,
Thanking the Lord for a life so sweet.”

It looks large. I guess as long as it doesn’t land on me when we are there, I will be good. I do think it would be fun to study them for a bit.
