LAPC: Backlit Egret

I believe my little beach egret is the perfect subject for Ann-Christine’s photo challenge “backlit“.

I followed this little guy around for quite a while on my final morning beach walk in Santa Barbara.

Different angles changed the lighting, and his antics were fun to watch.

“There in the windy flood of morning
Longing lifted its weight from me,
Lost as a sob in the midst of cheering,
Swept as a sea-bird out to sea.”
