The final destination on my 60th birthday, road trip celebration was Carlsbad, California. And in keeping with the focus on unique hotel accommodations, I choose the only hotel on the beach in Carlsbad, Beach Terrace. It did not disappoint. The building used to be apartments, and the rooms were huge! The room was beautiful, as was the view.
We spent the days exploring the area, visiting family, and discovering new nature lagoons. Although it was cool, the weather was beautiful, and it was a relaxing and enjoyable way to wrap up our two-week adventure.

The sky was overcast the day we arrived. Clouds do not diminish the beauty of the sea.

The hotel has a kitchen and they provided Valentines Day cookies upon our arrival.

They also provided a “petite” breakfast each morning. Although the selections were basic, the pastries and homemade juices were delicious! Two days they had kitchen issues and instead, they gave us a card for Starbucks just a couple of blocks away. The location of the hotel was ideal, just a short walk to shopping and restaurants.

Our final night provided a beautiful sunset show over the ocean, and we had front row seats from our balcony.
We took many wonderful memories home with us. ❤️🧡💛

What a fabulous birthday road trip you had. (Definitely worth getting to 60 for!) And that final sunset – WOW, what a finish! You even captured a bird floating across the sky… Wonderful!

Thank you so much! And I agree, if I’m going to be 60, I may as well make it fun! 😊 (that’s kind of my plan for every birthday, if possible)

Yes, it was! I wish it was a little warmer when we visited, but it was still beautiful.
