Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park

One of the key inspirations for our trip around Northern Arizona was Monument Valley. I had no idea there was a tribal park until I started looking for somewhere to stay nearby. I honestly thought it was just the road through the valley and the view back from the top of the hill.

When I researched further, I was so excited to see the tribal park, and we had to book a tour of the park valley. Once I realized there was lodging in the park, I quickly booked one of the tiny cabins that gave us a front row view of the amazing valley. There was a hotel there as well, but we both felt we got the best experience in the cabin.

We spent two nights, enjoying the drive through Monument Valley to Mexican Hat the next morning, and a tour of the park valley in the afternoon.

And to top it off, the weather was perfect!

Our cool tiny cabin!

Inside our tiny cabin. For being so small it had a surprising about of storage space. However, not sure how that would work had those two bunkbeds been filled! We loved it!

Mexican Hat Rock

A short distance from Mexican Hat was Goosenecks Park, a very small park with a very long river!

The river that winds around the park had multiple turns that were impossible to show in photos. I think from the sky it would be amazing!

I had a hard time getting a photo that really shows the long winding river, very beautiful though!

    1. Yes it was! The website said some people thought the views were better from the cabins than in the hotel. Smaller for sure, but such a peaceful and beautiful experience!
