This dragonfly was captured in flight, hovering long enough for me to snap his photo.
This species, from the genus Pantala, is considered the most widespread dragonfly on the planet, with good population on every continent except Antarctica (although rare in Europe). This information is gathered from Wikipedia on my iNaturalist app. This app is awesome and has helped me to identify seven types of dragonflies so far.
