Bird Weekly-Photo Challenge: Birds with red feathers

As I continue to identify more birds, I decided to post for Lisa Coleman’s photo challenge this week: Birds with Red Feathers.

The top two photos are of a cute little house finch. I learned last week at our wetlands, that if I look closely in the bushes, I can find sweet little birds. I have found several 😊

This cardinal I found at our Desert Museum some time ago. We don’t see them often so it was a treat!

And below is our neighborly woodpecker. They come and feed at our hummingbird feeder all the time. They crack me up! 😁

  1. Enjoyed the birds. I think woody is a female red-bellied woodpecker.

    1. A female huh? I always thought she was a male. We have them all over, and they are noisy! But I love bird noise 😊

Awesome photos this week! Love your house finch, cardinal and red-bellied woodpecker. I have to admit, I’ve never seen one partake in the hummingbird nectar. That is a crack-up! LOL!

Great shots. The only cardinals I’ve ever seen were some guys in robes and funny hats at the Vatican and the St. Louis Cardinals but the one I’d really like to see is the bird. I guess they don’t exist in California.

    1. Ha! You made me laugh Paulie! We don’t see them often here either. So I was excited to get this one! Thank you 😊
