That was our primary goal when we set out on our little about-town adventure yesterday. I know if we don’t get more rain soon, the colors and beauty will start to wither away.
We started out soon after sunrise. As we headed around town I was amazed at the lush green and many areas of flower colors. But we did have to watch for it.
Oh, and butterflies were everywhere! Especially on the back roads. Simply unbelievable.
All and all, a beautiful day. We may still get more rains, if we do, I’m sure I’ll be out looking for more photo ops!

The grass is not, in fact, always greener on the other side of the fence. No, not at all. Fences have nothing to do with it. The grass is greenest where it is watered. When crossing over fences, carry water with you and tend the grass wherever you may be.

I loved the dragonfly too.
Evidence that there has been rain… when the ocotillo have leaves on them. They were one of the first plants I fell in love in when I moved here. I won’t have one in my yard, but love them in their native landscape. The flowers are brilliant.
When we drove north last week, I was amazed at how “juicy” the saguaro look. Your photos show that and I am not sure people that don’t live here can appreciation how beautiful that is.
My favorite photo, next to the precious duck was the long road. Makes me want to get right back in the car. Nice series of photos.

Thank you Donna! My husband knows a lot of the back roads, we really had a wonderful drive around town. Thank you for the kind comments! …and I do believe it’s hard for those who don’t live here to grasp the magnificence of all this! But we sure do!

Amen. I have had a lot of company over the last few years. Most of my family is in NH and they love to get out of the cold. I love hearing their first impressions. My brother kept saying he can see much further here. I thought that was interesting. Everyone loves it here. WE do want limit some of the visits. We love our time too.

Thank you 😊 It’s really quite amazing, but hard to get in a photo. And the butterflies! Unbelievable! I’ll post more photos here and there. 🤗 …but there are a ton of bugs!

The butterfly wings are perfect camouflage for leaves. Brilliant and beautiful.

I did not realize that until you pointed it out! They do match the leaves!
