And what is an ornithologist, I asked myself? Wikipedia says: Ornithology is a branch of zoology that concerns the “methodological study and consequent knowledge of birds with all that relates to them.”
Wikipedia also says that Mr. Abert was an American Soldier. God bless him!

Yes, I disturbed him when I walked up, and was able to get this quick photo of him on the fence. No worms though, I think he was eating seeds. 😊
