Evening walk

Recently we discovered the little lake down the road was again filled with water. It’s in a nature preserve area that has been “under construction” for the past two years. Because the reeds and grasses grew up and overtook the little lake, it has been dry for several months. They dug out and removed all of the reeds. I do wonder if they did anything to prevent them from returning.

I was excited to go after work last night and walk around. It was beautiful and in the sunset lighting, I liked how some of the reflective photos came out.

Unfortunately, the tiny bugs were horrendous! It was a brisk walk around the small lake, and I spent all evening trying not to scratch the dozens of bites! Good news though, today they aren’t bothering me.

I played around with the editing. Which one is your favorite?

To find the universal elements enough; to find the air and the water exhilarating; to be refreshed by a morning walk or an evening saunter… to be thrilled by the stars at night; to be elated over a bird’s nest or a wildflower in spring – these are some of the rewards of the simple life.

Wow. That’s a difficult choice. I like number one most, as it has an ethereal feel to it, and number two most as the reflection off the water is the clearest, and the last one, due to the cute duck. I love them all. Great post, Lisa! Happy Saturday! 🌞

I vote for the first one. I know people who would stay there until it got dark but I don’t have that kind of patience.

I know what that’s like from fishing at night. I once bought one of those nets that go over your head to protect your face but the bugs just squeezed in there somehow. The best thing is a strong breeze and you can always try bug spray but it rarely works well. 🦟🦟🦟
