Taking Control… Learning Contentment
I’m working on a Shutterfly photo book with some of my favorite beach photos.
As I looked through my gazillion photos, I decided I needed to include this one from Sandals Resort (Nassau, Bahamas).
I played around with the editing.
Now I can’t decide which one is my favorite!
Any thoughts?

I like #1 or #3 – I’d go with the one that looks the closest to the memory you have of being there in that moment.

Thanks Shelley! I hadn’t paid too much attention to this photo until I started looking back for my photo book. I have #3 in there right now and it looks beautiful with a pink toned background page. But in my post I like #1!

Looks like a lovely place Lisa! I know it’s not easy to choose which image turned out best after editing. I have experienced the same dilemma many times 😁 I like number 1, 3 and 4 the most. Maybe because they are so bright. Close my eyes, looks again and decides on picture 3 😄 …or maybe 4. It’s not easy, this is a huge dilemma 😂

I originally was going to make them smaller and put them all on one page, just for fun. But I decided against that so I could put a bigger one in my photo book. And the page background color also changes it up! I just love Shutterfly! … I just may have to print up one of these and put it on my wall 😊

This is where photography crosses from science to art, and art is subjective. As artists we get to decide what we get to present what we see. Do we want to convey beauty or keep the story as true and realistic as possible or variations in between? IMHO, #1 is the most vivid and striking whereas #3 appears the most realistic but only you would remember that. 😆

Yes, and now I’m not even sure which is the original! Growing up I always wanted to be an artist. I don’t even edit photos very much, but I absolutely love to be creative with my camara, and a little bit with Lightroom. I need to take the time to experiment more with editing. But I get too impatient to go back out and take more photos! Thanks for your comment! 😊

It’s just fun to see which one people are choosing. I realize the background (page color) makes a difference. I have #3 in my photo book and I love it with a pink toned page color. But in my post I’m leaning towards #1.

Thank you! I believe #3 is the one I currently have in my photo book, but background does make a difference on what colors stand out.

I’m a 1. I know, I know…. Deciding on the first one I see is the easy ‘guy’ way out. But even the second time through it still stands out.

I made a photo album and I think I put #3 in the album. But when I look at them now, I agree with you on #1! The page color can make a difference too I think. Thanks for your feedback! 😊
