“We need to find God, and he cannot be found in noise and restlessness. God is the friend of silence. See how nature – trees, flowers, grass- grows in silence; see the stars, the moon and the sun, how they move in silence… We need silence to be able to touch souls.”
~ Mother Teresa

Gorgeous shots, Lisa, what a beauty!

Is that a Cooper’s Hawk? They sure can look majestic in the tree as they’re scoping out their prey.

Yes he is a Cooper’s Hawk! I didn’t think my lighting was so good when I took the photos, but I was happy with them! He’s a cool bird! …I haven’t seen one scoop out prey (yet!).

I thought so! We have them around here too. We’ve had a Sharp-Shinned Hawk that’s smaller but looks a lot like the Cooper’s Hawk. We’ve seen him scoop out prey more this year than ever.

How true your quote about silence is Lisa! We are way to busy so much of the time. Thank you for the reminder. Love the bird pics as well. Enjoy your day Lisa!

This is absolutely gorgeous, Lisa! You took photos of his front, and back when he turned around! Wow! I’ve seen a hawk in my California neighborhood but not up close. I haven’t seen one in Portland yet.
