In response to Amy’s Lens-Artist Photo Challenge I am sharing some of the photos I have taken recently as the flowers slowly emerge and I see a lot more green around the water areas. As I have mentioned before, rain has been sparse this winter, but flowers always seem to emerge. Some years more plentiful, others not so much. We take what we can get here in the desert. It always has a beauty of it’s own, and I choose to embrace it. In the water areas, the green reeds make a fabulous background for birds and creatures.

Welcome spring indeed Lisa! Loved your interpretation this week – red winged blackbirds are among my many favorites, but the cherry blossoms take the day!
That is delightful and colorful series, Lisa. Ah… the Dragonfly is back. Birds bring colors and sounds to spring. cpatured. I love the cherry blossom. The yellow flowers and reflections of the last image is my favorite!
Isn’t he a beautiful bird, John? The more I learn about ducks, it seems I see more new ones! But I really started paying attention to birds only about a year ago. (Thank you COVID 😐)
A wonderfully colourful world, Lisa! Thank you for sending some of it my way too. Love your bird photos – the yellow oriole is a beauty, and the redwinged blackbird too. I’d love to have such colourful birds around. Most birds we have are not that colourful.
I love all of these photos but especially the birds, as you get so many species we don’t see in the UK. I think the Vermillion Flycatcher is my favourite, with the Oriole a close second 😀
Splendid images Lisa!! I have tried for orioles yearly but haven’t had any luck yet. The robins, mockingbirds and catbirds all chow down on the grape jelly I put out – but no orioles!!
Interesting, grape jelly! We thought that bird was a Flaming Tanager (cool name, don’t you think?). I decided to double check before I posted. Yip, we were wrong! He’s still a cool bird😎
Thank you for sharing, I could feel myself walking around with you – such a peaceful feeling I’m taking into my Monday morning thanks to you and your photos!

Thanks Leya! Maybe we get used to what we see. I never realized how colorful our birds are! I would like to visit some places with different birds 🙂

Thank you! Funny, I only see the Oriole in my back yard! I see the Flycatcher at most parks we visit.
