CFFC: Raccoon in nature

I ran across this week’s Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: Nature Animals and decided this was the perfect time to post my sweet Wetlands Raccoon!

I was watching the birds a couple of weeks ago when SURPRISE! out comes this cutie from the reeds to wash his food! Oh my, I don’t know if I’ve seen a raccoon wash his food out in nature before.

It was a real treat. And although he was in the shadows, he still came out looking pretty sweet.

    I don’t think I’ve had a photo op like this for a raccoon. Yours did come out very sweet. 🙂

    And a treat for us too. It seems very sensible them washing their food, but then they are supposed to be bright creatures.

    Love these little creatures but haven’t seen one in a while. One time, I heard a strange sound overnight. I looked out the window, and a racoon was straddling the lid of an old galvanized steel trash can. It rocked the can until it fell over and proceeded to investigate the contents. They are very ingenious creatures.
