On my recent visit to Ketchikan, Alaska, I stayed right above the marina at Knudson Cove.
On a couple of morning walks, I wandered around the marina looking through my camera lens, snapping photos.
What do you think I saw?

When you’re curious, you find lots of interesting things to do.

To me, photography is an art of observation. It’s about finding something interesting in an ordinary place… I’ve found it has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them.

I love the set Lisa! Being a former Long Islander I really miss the marinas and everything related to it, like the fishing boats. My rods have been gathering dust in the closet for years. 😊

Awwww, thank you Mike! I love water and beach anywhere, and both my dad and my husband love to walk on the docks and look at the water and the boats. There is just something about that feeling…

There are always good photos opps to be found around boats and you’ve captured some great shots! I love the close-ups of rope and chain, and the eagle of course!

Thanks Sarah! I like the colors of the reflections in the water under the chain! I think colors help enhance the simple things 😊

Neat pictures, Lisa! I am glad that the last post you did of the snake was not near me, though! It is fascination to see it.

This post has your signature style and I really like each one of them for different reasons
The angle or the distance
And the vibrant color in many of these
Also / the unique and custom shots really helped me get a feel for more of your photography
This eagle photo is striking for America’s bday month too

Awwww, thank you so much for the kind feedback! I tend to look for the colors. I had fun killing time seeing what stood out for me. I posted that same eagle (different photo) but I thought he was worth a second look 😊

Oh and side note
Seeing the Walt Disney quite more did fit so well but it also now had me thinking about how far Disney is from what Walt created – but I guess this happens to most businesses – starts and grows and matures and when the founder passes on— it changes

I so agree with you on Disney. I took a tour one time at Disney Land and learned about Walt. A man I will always admire! My heart is sad on the direction the company has taken. Not so sure I’ll ever go back. But Walt’s dream, that will forever be in my heart.

Lovely gallery, Lisa. The air looks so clear. I love the photos of the boat pulled up on the sand of the beach/cove, the bald (?) eagle and the crab pots. I love all of them really.

Thank you! When the sun shines, it is quite amazing up there. The air is different. Fishy sometimes, but that’s not always bad 😊

How true of your last quote. Eyes of the beholder. This was a tranquil wander for sure. I love the crab pots and fishing rods. I was such a great trip for you (and for us! to see along side you) Donna
